Nintendo Wii finally hits the stores on November 19th, 2006. The launch was marked by extremely long lines (of over 60 hours) on major retailers, and in spite of the large supplies send to them the Wii is selling out easily. It's been reported that the online store Amazon.com sold out of the console in two minutes! Nintendo revealed that it intends to release 6 million console units and 17 million software units during the fiscal year ending March 31, 2007, and 4 million or more console units by the end of the 2006 calendar year.
The launch Wii package is priced at $250.00 and includes the console, a stand to allow the console to be placed vertically, a circular clear stabilizer for the main stand, one Wii Remote, one Nunchuk attachment, one Sensor Bar, a removable stand for the sensor bar, one external mains power adapter, AV cables (component video and other type of cables will be available separately), and (in all regions excluding Japan) a copy of Wii Sports.
Other recommended wii game titles, which can be bought separately, are: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Nintendo), Excite Truck (Nintendo), Red Steel (Ubisoft) and Madden NFL 07 (EA Sports). They cost about $50~60 each.
