A Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles game is in the works for the Nintendo DS and the upcoming Nintendo Wii. Both of them are expected to make use of their respective system's built-in Wi-Fi hardware for online play. There has been some confusion over the Wii version, as various reports gave release dates of 2006 and 2007, but Square-Enix has denied them, only saying that the game is "coming".
